Pandemic Notes Six, Mid November
I have not been blogging for awhile but I am about to start it again vigorously. I seem to now have the platforms I need. Here is instalment six of my Covid notes, as things start to get really interesting on that topic.
It seems to be time for the revolt to start. I have been reluctant to really counsel an uprising against the incompetent government response to Covid for fear of giving impetus to the ”civil rights” and “hoax” and “cure worse than the disease” crowd. Not to mention the “antivax” and “antimask” and even “herd immunity” nonsense. Moo.
The Pressure is Rising.
Even in my fairly placid neighbourhood in Toronto, the pandemic is making people more edgy. Most people follow the rule of the building management that masks must be worn in common areas and it is one party at a time on our elevators.
But we have a few people resisting this. One in particular, I don’t know if he is motivated more by covid denial propaganda or just by his evident mental illness, but he has annoyed some people. The bylaw officers in this social housing building are able to levy hefty fines for non compliance with the above rule, but we have to accommodate people with mental health issues as long as they do not endanger themselves and others. It is debatable if this includes refusal to mask up.
